What is NUFS?

The Northwood University Fashion Showcase, or NUFS, is a completely student-run, full-scale runway show. Northwood University students produce this show from start to finish, from marketing, finance, production, and styles. NUFS models are also students. The show is comprised of two sections, student design, and style. Student designers who create original designs, using various design techniques. Stylists, on the other hand, partner with state-wide clothing stores to style a number of outfits based on the theme of the show.

What is the theme of the show?

Thoughtful Threads is the theme of this year’s show, we will be showcasing the creativity of the environment and fashion, as well as the connection between the two. The show is comprised of five segments based on the following environmental concerns Climate, Habitats, Space, Biodiversity, and Urbanization. Stylists and designers have pulled inspiration from these various environmental concerns to come up with their designs and styles.

What do I wear as an audience member?

The dress code is “Thread the change. Dress for today, Sustain for tomorrow!”

Dressing sustainably involves making conscious choices in your clothing selection to minimize the environmental impact and promote ethical practices within the fashion industry. By incorporating these principles into your approach to dressing nicely, you not only enhance your personal style but also contribute to a more sustainable and responsible fashion industry. Can I buy tickets at the door?

Yes! Tickets will be available at the door, however, we encourage purchasing tickets ahead of time as ticket prices will increase by $5 at the door.

What time do doors open?

Check-in will begin at 6:15 pm, tickets will be available for purchase at this time. Our show space and seating will be available for selection at 6:30. Guests will be able to enjoy curated art pieces from our campus collection while waiting for seating to open.

Where is the show?

The show is held at Northwood University, in the Hach Student Life Center, located on the South side of campus. Please refer to the following map. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our team and directed where to go.
